Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Wrongful termination for claiming discrimination and harrassment
I was being harassed by a female coworker in the HR dept. for over a year. Other women in our company suffered similar harassment from her and a few of them also filed complaints. I took my complaint to three different male executives who two of which she worked directly for over the course of the year and ultimately I was just let go a month after my last complaint stating my postion has been eliminated. In fact they are short personnel and there is still a vacancy for the same position I held but they have changed the title. Is this something to pursue? In addition, I was charged for vision insurance which was deducted from my paycheck each month for my husband since October and found out in April that this person harassing me never added him to the policy but had the money deducted and refused to refund my premium to me. This individual that harassed me also watched my every move and had payroll deduct from my personal paid time off balance when in fact I had manager approval to work from home. There is much more and I feel I could strongly pursue. Please advise.
