Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Wrongful termination
This is a termination issue. One day I caught my gen. mgr. committing fraud with 2 other employees. This incident happened twice. The general manager has also threatened me-but they didnt do anything. I also caught staff making ''fake proofs'' so that an individual would get a certain discount 4 a contract.I've also caught a rep changing the name of a member on a contract. There are other occasions where stuff happens, but no actions are being taken.while the fraud was being investigated, I made a remark to my friend who is also a rep saying if he tells me what they're sayin about me, I'll help him out with his contracts-there was a witness that was part of our conversation- just joking around. I come in today and my area supervisor and the assistant general manager call me to talk to me about the ''situation'' I had with my friend at the front desk, and apparently our conversation was extreme- and they suspended me until my checks come for finally termination. What are my rights if I get fired for making comments to my friend when were joking, and you have upper mgt. (the GM and area sup are best buds) whose situations aren't being dealt with to the extremity mine was? I think its wrong to have terminated me. Pls respond. Thanks.

Re: Wrongful termination
in california, an employer can terminate you for no cause or for good cause, but NEVER for bad cause. if the nature of your pending termination is predicated on "bad cause" then you have rights to sue for wrongful termination plain and simple. if you would like further legal assistance or representation on this unfortunate matter, please email my law firm today with more specific details and we would be more than happy to further assist you in your fight for justice.
