Legal Question in Employment Law in California

wrongful termination

in Jan of 06 I was terminated while on vacation, I recv'd a certified letter in the mail saying that I was terminated because of my bad attitude with plant management, The problem is I never worked with plant managment the 2 yrs I was there. I even called plant management to dicuss this with him and he said that he never had a problem with me at all. I never filed a claim because I was affraid that it would effect my future employment. But now I was told that I had up to 2 yrs to file, does this apply to mi case? or is it too late to file?

Re: wrongful termination

I'm not sure to what kind of claim you are referring. Employees in CA, for the most part, are at-will, which means you can quit at any time, or be fired at any time for no reason or any reason, so long as it's not illegal, or as long as you didn't have an agreement that you would be employed for x years. From what you state, it doesn't sound like their reason was illegal, although they might have misled you as to the reason for your termination.
