wrongful termination

Is it legal to be replaced by a full-time employee the day after one is "layed-off, due to a lack of work load"?

It is not wrongful termination. They dont need a reason to fire you. what they did was legal.

You can file for wrongful termination. However you are already eligible for unemployment. Unless you had job for quite some time or an employment contract you are probably limited to unemployment benefits anyway.
