Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Wrongful Termination
My Sister has been a pediatric nurse at the same hospital for 28 years. She is now 55 years old. In 2006 she had major open heart surgery from a congenital heart problem. She found at the time fo the surgery that she caught Hep C from a transfusion. After healing from teh surgery she went on the treatment which is much like chemo. During her time off for this, she was let go. She was SOOOO sick she did not know what to do. Miracously once she felt better, a nurse she knew quit and she was able to step into the position. That was June 2008. Last week she was told that she should reisng because they were gong to fire her for a VERY minor charting error. She then resigned at the advise fo her union rep. She has had an unblemished record. Her new supervisor singled her out and has been trying to trap her. She is one of the higher paid, oldest nurses at the hospital. PLEASE HELP HER! SHE DESERVES SO MUCH MORE. SHE IS AN EXCELLENT NURSE AND VERY CARING AND HER CO-WORKERS LOVE HER. Her supservisor said she would give her a letter of recommendation also.

Re: Wrongful Termination
I am sorry to hear about your sister. Although I do not know all the facts of her employment and termination, feel free to contact me or have her contact me to discuss her termination.
Thanks,

Re: Wrongful Termination
She may have a valid worker's compensation claim and lawsuit against her employer if she was exposed to Hep C at work. If that's the case, call us at 213.388.7070 for a free consultation.
