Wrongful termination!

I've worked for a company for 10 years. Last week they terminated my employment; because they said my name was brought up in the ivestigation of a theft ring, at the company. Other employees were questioned by police investigaters(?), I was not! My employer told me that I was being fired because someone had told them (the company),that I was involved. Their co. handbook, said they could fire 'at will'. Now I'm being denied un-employment. do I have a case when no evidence has been brought against me? Other than someone making a statement (which is not true).And why did my employer want me to sign a termination notice stating: Discharged due to Conduct. Suspioion and/or knowledge of theft! Don't I have a right to know who made these statements against me? And how can a company stop me from recieving un-employment? I really think that I might have been fired because of my age? What rights do I have,if any? I was never given a chance to see any evidence against me (I know why;because there is none,because I did nothing wrong! Someone please give me some kind of direction to take. I'm thinking about filing a small claims case,do I have chance or do I have anything or nothing at all?

If you are an at-will employee you can be fired for any reason and suspicion of theft can be a cause for termination. I assume that they are denying you unemployment based on the fact that they fired you for the alleged theft, which would allow the employer to deny unemployment benefits. You may want to contact a local employment lawyer to discuss your matter.
