wrongfull termation
I am pending a unemployment hearing.I was let go from
a co. that says I walked off the job. They lied to the
employment office, so my benefits are being
threatened.My termination was clear, and I am
wondering , do I need legal assiste

You would be well served by obtaining representation so as to effectively present relevant evidence and argue your position. Resonable attorney's fees for an EDD hearing should be somewhere around $ 500.00 to $ 750.00. However, if you believe you were fired for some improper reason, i.e., discrimination or other illegal basis, then you may have a case for wrongful termination and sue for damages. In California, Unemployment Insurance Code Section 1256 disqualifies an individual from unemployment benefits if they left their work voluntarily without good cause. You need credible evidence (documents or live witnesses) to prove that the employer was the moving party in your separation.
