Legal Question in Employment Law in California

wrongfull termination

As a portfolio manager for a Property Management company, I was laid off under the excuse of financial reason. I supervise 4 multifamily properties and one commercial. One property was sold and they said that they have to cut expenses...however they have to invest the money again in another property of equal value (1030 exchange)...

Then my wife is laid off same day as me for no reasons at all without without proper documentation as to change of relationship. Now,the management company is trying to evict both of us from one of the units that we rent from them. We are fighting the eviction!...Then the next day, my wife was notified by the Department of unemployment that the company wants to deny unemployment benefits. We are contesting this too. And to top it all, we have not received any nformation on our COBRA benefits. I will need to mention that before laid off i have a big argue with my supervisor but I was told that everything was ok. In short...I believe I have a case of wronfull termination, plus a lot more violations and retalition.
