Legal Question in Employment Law in California
wrongfull termination
I worked for my sporting good store for 51/2 years 3 of those years as asst. manager. I made a deposit for the store at the end of my shift. when the deposit made it to the Bank $650.00 was missing from it. I was fired for the missing money. I did NOT take the money. There had been a problem with my boyfriend and one of the other managers of my store. That manager closed the store the night I did the deposit. All the books balanced but the money was taken out of the safe and missing. The head manager knows I didn't take the moneny and strongly believes it was taken by the other manager. The reason for termination was gross negligance causing loss to the store. They now are appealing my unemployment benifits and I also had a open workmans comp case for a broken knee I suffered at work.
