Legal Question in Employment Law in California

wrongfully terminated

I am Japanese and I have a daughter who is 19 years old. She started working as a beauty consultant about two months ago. She just got terminated verbally by one of her manager. This manager thinks my daughter stole $500 from the safe which my daughter doesn't even know the combination numbers. While back this manager thought my daughter stole checks that made to the store and made my daughter emptied her pockets. (This manager later found those checks. )My daughter is half Japanese half American. The manager who terminated her is African American. The manager who hired her is white. My daughter thinks it is racial discrimination. Can my daughter get terminated verbally and with wrongful reason like this? They don't even have a proof that she stole the money. And she was terminated in front of other African American managers even though my daughter asked to talk privately. If they can see the video, it's crystal clear that she didn't stole the money. In America what can we do about this? I am very very upset. Is there anything we can do? Thank you in advance.

Re: wrongfully terminated

Yes, you can...if your daughter's firing was based on "bad cause", i.e. discrimination, and was merely pretexted on "theft grounds", then you have a very strong case for wrongful termination. If you would like a free phone consultation, contact us directly today.
