Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

3 day notice

after being served with a 3 day notice at the end of the 3rd day can the landlord come in and start going through my personal affects such as desks, file cabinets. I rented an office I was in the middle of moving I stepped out to get food I locked the door when came back 40minutes later the landlord was inside going through my stuff telling me my property was theirs because 3 days had past- is that legal?? does 3 day notice means I have no rights as tenant or to my property?

Re: 3 day notice

Yes, you have rights. What the landlord did was illegal. The landlord will still have to go to court if you're not out at the end of the three days. He just can't walk in a rifle through your stuff. Talk with a lawyer in your area. You might be able negotiate a payment by the landlord to you because of his misconduct.
