Re: 3 day Pay or Quit, Husband on State Disability

Your landlord is right, and you are in trouble.

I am assuming you were served with a 3 day notice to pay rent or quit. You have 3 days to bring the rent current, or eviction proceedings (unlawful detainer) will begin.

Rent is collected in advance. Being paid until end of May means you are late.

Being on state disability is not a defense. It is not the landlord's problem that you are on disability.

I would immediately try to work out paying back rent. Evictions not only are difficult to go through, but it will affect your future ability to rent, based on your credit history. It may be years before you can rent again without a cosigner.
