Most stipuilations that settle unlawful detainer cases provide that if a defendant (tenant) fails to vacate or make a payment called for in the stipulation, the landlord can file a request for judgment with the court after giving the defendant 24-hour notice prior to filing the request. This gives the defendant the opportunity to file an opposition to any such request.
