Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

40' Storage Container Gone

The landlord won a unlawful detainer by default,by haveing work crews block us in with a ''broke down'' backhoe, thus causing us to miss our court time. We lived on 10 acres in a studio in barn along with our horses.Anyway we got out by the date on the writ, but had to leave our 40 foot ocean container there, wich was filled with all our worldly possesions, and then some, about $25,000. worth of personal property.I had a company come out and try to move it but it was too muddy and had to wait till winter was over. went there several times to check the ground and almost got arrested. The sherrif spoke with the landlord and he wanted us to get it out asap. I called his contractor at the site 3 weeks later and was informed that it was gone.GONE! My heart sank. He said it was some company that the landlord called and he just gave it to them. Do i call the police? or have to take him to court? I couldnt even get his phone number from the contractor.there is so much more to this situation than i can type.Any info would be appriciated, thank you.

Re: 40' Storage Container Gone

You have to sue this landlord for removing your belongings without your knowledge or authority. Once you file the lawsuit and have it served on the landlord, you can get loads of information to uncover the facts behind this issue. Good luck.
