Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

my 19 year old son, who pays nothing for his rent or keep, is giving us trouble and quoting tenant rights when we mention him leaving and getting his own place. can we evict him without notice or going to court?

we have no resources for legal battles.

He is not a tenant so does not have the legal rights of a tenant. Demand that he prove he has any rilghts. A tenant is a person who has a written or oral agreement to rent a living area from a landlord. There was no rental agreement so he is not a tenant.
