Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
advance rent
To secure an apartment I payed rent 6 months in advance, because I had money from my parents death. I am unemployed and my credit is bad. Is it legal to ask for so much rent in advance?

Re: advance rent
Yes. If the situations were reversed, and you were the landlord, wouldn't you want an unemployed tenant with bad credit to pay substantially in advance?
