Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
In Alameda County, California, I filed a small claims suit against my former landlord. I have a fee waiver, so the Sheriff's Dept. tried to serve the subpoenas, but the landlords don't liver there anymore. I have found their new address. Can I just change the address on the subpoenas, or do I need to do all the paperwork again with the correct address?

I assume you are taking about serving the suit; a subpoena is an order for a person to appear iln court as to a suit that has already been answered so that both parties are before the court. if yu have the correct address, it is much faster to send the complaint aganst the landlord by certified mail and ilf they do not accept the letter then have some one not involved with the suit try to serve the landlord directly or by giving it to an adult at that address.
