Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I'm still a bit confused about Security Deposits. No Bank in Los Angeles pays 5% interest. Are Landlords still required to pay that amount for Security Deposits?

Only in rent controlled buildings under the City of Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance, and only starting after the tenant has been in the unit 12 months. No, it's not fair with current interest rates, but it is the law.
