Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

my boyfriend and i broke up and we are living together. we are renting a room in a house with 2 other roommates and he said he wants me out. i agreed and told him that i would move out but i would need some time to look for another place. He verbally agreed on 30 days bc I told him that is what the law requires. However, neither of us are on the lease and there was no written agreement on the time he gave me. He verbally told the other roomates but bc they dont want to get involed because they are both of our friends, neither of them say they want to be involved. We both help out with expenses although there are no utilities in my name. I have boughten all of or the majority of the grocieres in the past 2 moths and have the reciepts to prove it. ( He has a cable bill in his name because we said he could not live somwhere where he couldnt watch his Lakers.) in for This morning my ex decided to throw a tantrum because he found out that i went to the Laker game this morning so he therw by clothes all over the place and casued a scene. only one of the roomates was home but he was asleep in his room for the start of the argument. The roomate waited until my ex left for work to come out and asked what had happened . My roommate saw the mess in the room with all my belonging everywhere. My ex then re entered the home while by roommate was now out of his room and my ex took a few of his belongings with him such as his sasfe and laptop with him. I guess my ex figured since he had disrespeceted my belongings he feared i would do the same to his. My ex stated that he wants me out by tonight. Legally what can he do if I refuse? He said he will call the cops if i dont leave but i have done nothing against him or his propery to merrit the cops being called.

A roomate does not have the right to terminate another roomate's tenancy. Only the landlord can do that. The cops should not remove you if he calls because you are not tresspassing, he is not the landlord and no there is no eviction judgment that has been enforced. You have just as much of right to be there as he does.
