Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Breach of Contract

I have been living in this 4 apartment complex for 3 months or so now. The complex is roach infested and it has many other problems. The landlord has a ''It's not my problem'' attitude about the situation. Ive been complaining since I moved here due to the fact that no one told us about this problem and nothing has been done.Ive even asked for a transfer and was denied. My main question is Will I be breaching my contract if I moved or tried to move if this place is ''INHABITABLE''. Also my child is possibly being exposed to lead due to chipped paint and mold,I cant cook due to roaches in the oven and refrigerator. These are just a few problems. I really need to know what to do. It would be very much appreciated if someone get back to me as soon as possible..Thank You.

Re: Breach of Contract

Hi,

You have a number of options since the landlord has obviously breached the implied warranty of habitability. However, I cannot properly advise you without additional information about your case. Please call me for a free consultation.
