Break Lease for Job Transfer

can you legally break you apartment lease if your job has transferred to a different city?

Why should the landlord lose money because of something they have no control over? You signed a contract agreeing to pay rent for a certain period of time and you are legally bound by that contract. Go speak to the landlord and see what can be worked out.
