I am breaking the lease of my apartment due to inhabitable conditions. (cold water, noisy neighbors, cockroaches) They agreed to let me break my year long lease (I have 5 months left) if I pay next months rent in full, but be out of the apartment mid month. This morning I had a note to enter the apartment to show new renters for a week long period 9am to 6pm in beginning tomorrow. This seems excessive, and I don't feel comfortable with people entering my apartment with all of my belongings- especially since I have a cat. (I pay pet rent as well...) Can I say refuse to let them in for at least a week so I can move my property out? Or by law can they come in- no matter what?

By law they can come in on 24 hours notice, during normal business hours; 9-6 qualifies. However, they can only give notice for reasonable time needed to show to prospective tenants. So a week of 9 hours a day doesn't qualify. They have to give you notice of each intended entry to show the property, with 24 hours notice.
