Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Breaking out of a lease early..

I am currently in a 1-year long contract that ends in July at the current house I live in. I live with 3 other roommates and all of our names are on the contract. Also on the contract is clearly stated that there are no pets allowed in the house.

One of my roommates has brought a cat into the house last December, about one and a half month ago. I would like to leave my lease and the house due to the breach in contract but don't want to get the other 2 roommates (without the pet) in trouble with the landlord/management company. I would just rather leave myself and let them be.

Is there any legal way for me to move out without having to find a replacement for my room/rent and no longer be legally and financially bound by the contract?

No, not that I can see. You are bound by the ocntract; the landlord has not breached it, just your roomate with the pet. Why should their breach excuse your aniticipated breach with the landlord?
