Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Breaking a residential lease
We signed a lease and paid a security deposit but have not moved in nor has the rental period started yet. What would be the penalty for backing out of the lease at this point?

Re: Breaking a residential lease
Read the provisions to the lease you signed.
Normally, you cannot get out, and the best way to handle this is to call landlord and renegotiate.
