broken fridge

how long does a landlord have to replace a broken fridge that has made all of our food go bad.

The answer is: not very long. Notify landlord ("LL") in writing. Keep a copy. The law says LL has reasonable time to make repairs. Once you have done this, and no repairs are made, you have several options. You pay for repairs and deduct from the rent. You can withhold rent until repairs are made. You can move out.
