Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Buyer's Remorse on a CA Property Lease?

Hi,

Thank you in advance for your help. Two days ago, I signed a one year lease for a home and paid a security deposit by cashier's check, after being qualified by the property manager for the lease. I signed together with another adult, who also paid his security deposit and was an approved tenant. We have keys and took possession of the property last night. My question is this: is there a three day cooling off period or 'buyer's remorse' in regards to a property lease in the state of California? The gentleman who signed the lease with me would like to remain in the property and on the lease, but I would like to move out, and get my name off of the lease if possible. Is there any possibility I could back away if I did so within three days?

Thank you,

No you cannot. You will need someone, who the landlord will approve of, to come in to take your place.
