As Per CA law, is a landlord who rents out a pool home responsible to put up a safety fence around the pool?

Unless there is some local ordinance or code, there is no legal requirement that you put up a pool fence. You are, however, required to maintain a safe premises when you rent out property. Personally I'd rather put up the fence than litigate wether the absence of a fence made the premises unsafe after someone gets hurt or drowns. That's not a fight you can ever really win, even if you won the lawsuit. If you check with your insurance agent, you may also find you are not insured if you rent out the pool house and don't put up a fence.
