Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
We are in California.
We are considering demanding/asking our 26 y/o daughter to vacate our home.
She has a full time job. She has NO disability that would prevent her from living on her own.
We have no written or verbal rental agreement. She has never been required to contribute financially to the household.
Are there laws we must follow?
Is there a 30 or 60 day notice to vacate requirement?

If she has never contributed financially to the household, she does not have tenant rights and technically can be ordered out with no notice; if she refuses she can be removed by the police as a trespasser. That said, the police are unlikely to want to do that and probably will tell you to "work it out." So your best bet is to give her reasonable notice, well documented, and clearly but politely reminding her if she resists that if she does not comply the law says she will become a trespasser, "and we really don't want it to come to that."
