Car Smashed By Tree
I rent a home, when I moved in 1y ago I informed the landlords the trees would need trimming, they were dangerous. Never a response. 2m ago I sent photos along with a letter stating the trees were worse and branches were falling when the wind blew. Then a large branch smashed my car while in the driveway of my home. Rather than actually submitting a claim on my bahalf, the landlord inquired if they were covered and then gave me the run around to get any Homeowners info. That took 7d/ finally I got the info and submitted my own claim to their homeowners(I only carried PL and PD)Week 2 they sent someone to take photos now week 3 and they have to send someone else. Mind you I am paying 300 a week out of my own pocket for a rental car. When I asked the insuance adjuster to give me a time frame her response was ''there is nothing stopping you from getting another car'' Of course there is MONEY. I am already 900 in to this. That car was our sole source of tranport.and I have to get to work and kids to school. I had fax the KBB value/ a written estimate and photos of the vehicle after the accident. Is there something I can do to speed this up or at least get them to cover the rental car?Thank you, Single Mom with no money

The landlord should be responsible.
Why do you think insurance companies became rich?
They hesitate to pay a claim, no matter how legitimate, especially when you don't have an attorney. Once you tell the claims adjuster you need the money ASAP, they begin to squeeze you to take a lot less.
Retain an attorney at your early convenience. You'd call a plumber for a broken water main, a doctor for medical emergency, so get a lawyer for this one.
