Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Co-Signer

What are the obligations of a co-signer on a month to month rental agreement. If the rent is due on the 4th and late on the 9th, can the owner of the property call the co-signers and demand the $1000.00 rent payment even if it is only the 7th of the month?

Thank you

Re: Co-Signer

Yes, since the rent is due on the 4th. Be thankful that the landlord hasn't yet served a 3-day notice that would cause your eviction.

Re: Co-Signer

Yes they can. The "late" in the agreement refers to late fees, not due date.
