court summon on foreclosed home

I recieved a letter in the mail. Court summons stating I needed to respond in 5 days. How do I do that? I live in Modesto Ca.

Do not ignore This!

Go to the clerk of court on Monday, and they will guide you.

Also, read the directions that come with the summons.

You have almost certainly been sued, and it is probably an eviction notice.

You need to file an answer (or other responsive pleading) to the Unlawful Detainer Complaint. You can find the forms at http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/forms/fillable/ud105.pdf. If you don't answer, the new owner will obtain a default judgment against you, and get possession and perhaps the amount of money for which they've asked the court to award.
