Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My current landlords property is in foreclosure, the house is listed to sell at a public auction on Feb 25, 2010.

Today (Feb 22, 2010) my current landlord said that they were able to save the house, and that I have to pay the rent to them on Mar 1, 2010. How do I know if this is actually true? Or, how do I find out who the owner of the house really is?

Since 2/25 has passed, contact the company that was going to sell the property at the foreclosure sale and have the landlord show to you a copy of the cashier's check he used to make up the back payments or give you other proof that he redeemed the property [he probably will not be able to get anything from the bank for some time but can show you proof of his paying the March mortgage payment].
