Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Damage To Car
Upon closing, the security gate at my apartment complex damaged the side of my car. Property management refuses to cover the damage. Is there a law in place which mandates that all automatic garage doors and gates at rental properties have a safety feature such as a sensor? Next time it might be a child that gets hurt because of an unsafe and malfunctioning gate.

I don't agree that management is not responsible for a malfunctioning gate (assuming you did not cause the damage).
Read your lease carefully, in order to make sure there is not a provision excusing management for this. Then, get your damage estimates and bills together and file in Small Claims court against the complex.
