Three day pay or quit
We began a business on April 1, 2008. We signed a 3 year lease and in the agreement we asked for the first 30 days free, plus put down a $4500 deposit, equivelant to one month rent. Business started out slow and we couldn't come up with Mays Rent, but asked if we could make payments $1200 a week to catch up until buz picks up, they served us with a pay or quit on June 2. We found out they have another person interested in the building. Is it that easy for them to kick us out with a signed lease? I realize we are behind, but it seems premature to me.

The signed lease does not matter. You are behind in the rent....PERIOD.
