Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Dead-Beat Roommate

An old roommate terminated her lease, but failed to put in the new roommate on the lease. After several of months, the new roommate has just up and left, failing to have a replacement and the rest of their portion of the month's rent. What should I now do?

Re: Dead-Beat Roommate

You owe the rent to landlord.

Then go after old roomie in small claims court. Also, go after dead-beat roomie in small claims.

By the way, the landlord needs to add new persons to the lease, or remove them.
