Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I got a enlawful detainer letter in the mail for the apartment I have. It said I had 5 days from the date posted to reply however I was away at school and just got back in town so I missed the deadline. What can I do?

You need to find out if your default has been entered. If it has not, you need to file a response immediately. If it has been entered, you will need to file a motion to vacate the default explaining why you did not respond in time. I advise you to seek legal assistance and not to do this alone on your own.
