Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I am being evicted and the owner has lied on the forcible detainer complaint . She says I forced my way into the home without permission. I've lived here for 14 years. Can she be punished or lose the case for lying ?

Lying on the complaint has very little consequence. Perjury is a crime, but only when the statements are made under penalty of perjury. Even in those situations, it is rarely prosecuted. It is suggested that you get competent legal assistance to help you, and not sit back and hope that the court protects your interests on its own.
