Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
being evicted
i was told that my apt had gone back to bank. got 3-day pay or quit on 5-21=09, got unlawful detainer- eviction on 5-27-09, now i find out sale has been extended. owner wont discuss it. how long can i stay in my apt? the notice dosent say. 30 days? is there a minimum. should i follow the court rules and go before a judge, do i have a chance for extention or anything else? is there any way to get info on where the owner stands with her foreclosure? i am disabled, will that help my problem?

Re: being evicted
If you're current on your rent, then they have to serve you a 30- or 60-day notice to quit if they want you out -- assuming you're now month-to-month, not a 3-day notice. You might also hit up the landlord or bank to buy you out of your tenancy to avoid the bother of evicting you. Good luck!
