Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

eviction

I was evicted from my apartment and at the time the reason given was because I was arrested. I was arrested but I never even saw a judge I was just given a traffic ticket and sent home. Did my landlord have any right to evict me?

Re: eviction

You can be evicted for being late with rent, causing a nuisance by being noisy, and operating a criminal enterprise from your apartment, but not under the circumstances as you relate them.

When you say you were "evicted", did you have a trial, and tell your "story" to the judge. Why do you wait until now to ask this question?

I need more facts about the eviction, before I can help you.

However, based on your question, the answer is "No".
