Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

eviction questions

a year and a half ago I was evicted due to unemployment. I still need to pay the judgement. The lawyers are sending me several letters the amounts differeing on each one. These amounts are also way higher than what the judge said it would be in court..I've even compared it with the courts minutes/ judgement. Which is correct to pay? Also, they kept my deposit, this should be deducted correct? Can intrest accrue? Thanks!

Re: eviction questions

It sounds like there are additional fees and interest over and above the amount of the judgment. Interest is 10% per annum. Plus there are other fees associated with enforcement of the judgment. An attorney needs to review the forms to determine which amount to pay. We cannot inform you of this over the internet since we haven't seen the requisite legal documents. And, the deposit should be credited. Good luck and thanks for inquiring.
