Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
My ex-landlord has filed a counter suit in response to my small claims suit to get my security deposit returned. In this counter suit, she claims damages for 'various fines and fees including aggravated verbal assault and harassment'. There is nothing in the documentation I received that explains how she arrived at the amount she is claiming. Is this a frivolous lawsuit, and if so, how do I go about my defense or getting it dismissed?

It is frivolous if there is no factual or legal basis, but you do not give us any facts so we can not say. You can not get it dismissed. You need declarations and testimony that there was no harassment, check to see what fines could have been imposed, etc..
