falsely reported to police department for threatening

I was falsely reported to a police department for threatening by a man who lives in the same apartment complex. He was the one actually threatening me. When police officer showed up to mediate his accussation against me, he refuse to have a discusstion or a dialogue between us. Do I have any recourse against him for falsely report me to police department ? He is a very sick man who wants to bully neighbors.

If he's threatened violence, you might be able to obtain a civil harassment restraining order. But you would have to show you were in fear of being harmed. You might report him to the landlord as harassing other tenants, including you.
