Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

i just found they are garnishing my wages for an eviction in 2006, the amount was only 750, no they say its 3600. im in california, and have not responded to any communications as i havent recieved any since 2006. can they do that, also i have a current dispute for that on my credit report with experian and trans union.

If there's a judgment against you -- which I presume there is -- simple interest accumulates at 10 percent per year. In addition, the landlord's attorneys probably asked the court for attorney's fees and the costs of the unlawful detainer lawsuit. I doubt that the credit reporting agencies will remove the item because a judgment probably exists. You might want to try to negotiate payment of the principal amount, or take other measures to manage or eliminate your debts.
