Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Free rent after signing up

Two weeks after moving in a new apartment in a rental property (owned by a renting company, not an individual), the management posted a free rent add. Since we've been there for less than 30 days, can we lawfully ask for full or part of that promotion ?

Thank you.

You can lawfully ask for whatever you want. That does not mean they are required to give it to you.

The simple answer to your question: No. They are not under any obligation other than the contract that they made with you. Of course it won't hurt to ask.
