Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I had a friend move in for couple of month, but did not ask them to pay rent or any portion of the rent, and I was then hit with a subleasing eviction, is that legal?

Depends on the terms of your lease. Many leases require landlord consent for anyone to occupy the premises for more than a specified period of time.
