Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Can I be held in contempt while on the stand?
I am involved in a discrimination lawsuit as the plaintiff. My attorney did not do such a good job so far. He failed to respond to a summary judgement motion and he also lost another key defendant. Basicly I am left with a very good chance to prove discrimination but I will not be able to collect a siazable judgement. I reasearched the judge and I saw that he was repremended back in 1998 for being biast against the regular Joe while always rulling for the big corporation. In my particular case the owners was a multimilion dollar developer and he was taken out of the case by the judge.
I have a setlement conference in front of this judge before we go to trial 2 weeks later. I am planning to tell the judge that he is biast and I also want to bring the judge's past while testifying under oath.
Can the judge held me in contempt for this and how many day will I have to spend in jail? How about can he dismiss my case all together because of this even thaw I am protected under the anti-sllap laws and have freedom of speach?
I would really appreciate an answer!!!

Its not a good idea to yell at the judge or insult them in their court room. Judges have wide latitude to control the decorum in their court room. You should always be respectful of them. If you need to challenge them you should do it legally through a motion.
Please contact a local attorney in your area prior to taking legal action.
Good luck,
