Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Hello,
My friend and I live in a duplex in Los Angeles. The landlord is requesting that we leave our apartment for about 3 days while some repairs are done. She is telling us to go find friends to stay with but I have been told that by law, the landlord is required to provide living accommodations for us if we are asked to vacate our apartment for repairs. I have searched all over for this law but have found nothing.
Does anyone know if such a law actually exists and if so where would I find it at?
Thank you in advance!
M.

It is a local law. Do a Google search to find one of the many tenants' rights groups that exist due to the draconian rent control laws in LA. They'll be more than happy to help.
