Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I was hospitalized and my landlord kept calling my cell phone asking me what I was going to do about paying my rent. My question is did they have the legal right to repeatedly call me about my rent during my hospitalization?

Legally the lanldord is free to contact you at the hospital. It is a question of degree as to when the calls become too numerous to rise to the level of harassment. Other than that the landlord is subject to common decency as far as how often he can call you at the hospital. Be aware that the landlord can serve you with a three day notice to pay or quit even if you are in the hospital. You should do what you can to get the rent paid.
