Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Our house lease has expired but the management company has yet to write a new one even though I reminded them about a month before it ran out that it would be ending soon. Are we obligated to sign a new one or should it go to a month to month with the same monthly terms as the original lease?

Check the existing lease, but if it's silent, you'd likely go on a month-to-month tenancy, with the landlord having to inform you of any changes (like rent increases) with a 30-day notice.
