The former landlord probably is entitled to rent for four or five days in August. It might not be worth that person's while to file a lawsuit against you for the rent. In addition, if a lawsuit is filed, it must be by the real party in interest -- which is now the bank. You would certainly have some defenses. In the meantime, if you're interested, talk to the bank and see if you could work out a new rental agreement.
